Two out of every three employees desire the IT department of the company that they work for to allow them to choose what device they use. People want freedom in the devices they use. After all, they have to get work done when they are working, and they believe that they should be able to work with the machine that they are most proficient with. However, there are some problems with BYOD (bring your own device), and several businesses are working hard to come up with BYOD solutions.
The need for a BYOD solution is evident. Allowing employees to use their own devices generally leads to several benefits for the employer. Employees using their own devices can pave a path towards increased accuracy for billing and record keeping, streamlined workflow, added visibility, less paperwork, overall great productivity, and more. Businesses want to tap into all of the positives of BYOD, so they are desperate for a BYOD solution.
Another perk of employees using their own devices is that they will often work on their job when they are not at work. Out of all of the people with smartphones, seventy percent of them check their work email regularly outside of the average business hours.
One of the big problems with employees bringing their own devices is that there is little Byod mobile security. It is hard for a business to monitor every personal device, and more importantly, it is hard for businesses to keep them in sync and keep viruses out of them. While the positives of allowing employees to bring their own devices are evident, it can be a nightmare for IT departments. BYOD solutions are desperately sought after.
While 25 percent of companies allow employees to use their own devices yet have no system for management of any kind in place, a Byod strategy that is successful is not foreign to all IT departments. Effective BYOD solutions features remote locking and erasing of company data should the device be stolen, as well as a requirement for users to protect their devices with locks and a password.
There are a lot of reasons for companies to allow employees to use their own devices. However, it can also lead to a few different problems. Businesses are looking for BYOD solutions that effectively allow employees to use their own device while syncing them into the system and protecting them.

I can’t imagine not being able to use my personal computer for work. I have to use my own computer all the time for work, and it has nearly become a part of me. I’m not saying its impossible. I just can’t imagine it.
