The Top Chipping Tips for Golfers

Wilmington delaware golf courses

There are plenty of great golf tips for chipping. Chipping does not come naturally to everyone. Not ever golfer is a Tiger Woods, we all have different skill sets and develop at different rates. If you have a high handicap, however, there is no reason to feel bad. 80% of all golfers will never earn a handicap of less than 18.

I am aware that the best golf tips come from actually being on the best public golf courses, but let us pretend. Watch the screen on which you are reading this post as it turns into a green. Do you see the tee? The golf ball? Feel the nine iron in your hands? Okay, now that we are actually golfing on one of the nicest Delaware golf courses, here come the golf tips for chipping…

1. Watch Your Grip.

Golf tips for chipping are often really golf grip tips. The first way to improve your chipping is to choke down on your grip. Choking down your grip will give you more control. By doing this, you will also be counterbalancing your weight, allowing you to gently tap the ball in. Choking down your hands will also naturally cause your body to be lower, adding more flex to the knees for a more precise shot.

2. Get Your Weight Right.

Shift your weight forward, with a ball back in your stance. Of all the golf tips for chipping, this is probably the most important. This stance will provide a more downward blow into the ball, preventing fat and thin shots. It is a great trick for achieving much more control of the ball.

I hope these golf tips for chipping have helped. Now, the next time you are on a golf course that is not digital and constructed by text, you will be able to try these out and see if your shots are improved. I trust that they will be. Happy golfing, folks! Find out more at this site.

  1. It is so weird to get used to, but it is true. I had to train myself not to look at the ball for many years before I was able to do it effectively.
