The Chesapeake Bay is a beautiful body of water located on the East Coast of the United States. It is considered brackish water because there is both fresh water flowing into it from rivers and salt water flowing in from the Atlantic Ocean. There are many places in the Bay where it is very shallow an you can wade out into the water a hundred feet and still only be in knee deep water.

I visit the Chesapeake every year when I go to Washington DC. It is so beautiful, I always have the greatest time. It is so much fun to wade out into the water two hundred feet and still feel sand under your feet.
